We are back

 

 

Hallo ihr lieben! Da sind wir wieder. Nach 3 Monaten Arbeit auf einer Working Cattle & Camel Station im australischen Outback sind wir nun endlich wieder in der Zivilisation, genauer gesagt in Adelaide. Die Station befindet sich in der Nähe des Kings Canyon, 3,5 Autostunden von Alice Springs entfernt. Dort hat Justus als Yardie auf dem Hof gearbeitet, Toiletten geputzt, Müll eingesammelt, Quad Touren geleitet etc. Ich habe die ersten beiden Wochen in der Küche des dortigen Cafés gearbeitet – mit super süßen & absolut liebenswürdigen Japanerinnen! Dann habe ich in die Rezeption gewechselt und dort die restliche Zeit gearbeitet. Das war zwar nicht so anstrengend wie die Küche, aber oftmals langweilig. Denn dort in der Wüste ist jetzt Sommer, sprich Nebensaison, aufgrund Temperaturen von über 40 Grad. 

Die letzten 3 Monate waren eine ziemlich aufregende Zeit mit vielen schönen, aber auch manchmal etwas schwierigen Momenten. Aber ich schätze, das gehört genauso zu diesem Jahr. Nicht nur entspannen und sorgenlos zu leben, sondern auch herausfordernde Augenblicke zu erleben, um daraus etwas fürs Leben zu lernen… 😉

Jetzt sind wir in Adelaide und es ist wie im Paradies! Endlich können wir wieder essen und einkaufen, was wir wollen. Das beste ist allerdings der Strand!!! Zum ersten Mal waren wir an einem richtigen australischen Strand (abgesehen von künstlich erbauten Stadtstrand von Brisbane) und es war traumhaft!! Vor allem der Sonnenuntergang… 

Nun waren wir die letzten Tage auf Autosuche und haben schon eins gefunden und gekauft. Einen Ford Escape, eine Art Mini Jeep mit 4×4. Im Kofferraum befindet sich eine Bettkonstruktion, wo wir schlafen können. Außerdem ist bereits eine Camping Ausrüstung dabei. Heute können wir ihn endlich abholen, wir sind schon ganz aufgeregt 🙂

Anbei habe ich alle möglichen Bilder vom Outback angefügt. Die Strandbilder von Adelaide sowie das Auto folgen noch. Denn ab jetzt werden wir wieder regelmäßiger was von uns hören lassen. Also, bleibt dran 😉

Hey you all, we are back. After 3 months of working on a camel / cattel farm in the Australian outback, we are finally back in civilisation now, more precisely in Adelaide. The station is located near King Canyon, 3.5 hours from Alice Springs. That’s where Justus worked as a Yardie, which means cleaning toilets, doing rubbish run, leading quad bike tours etc. At first, I worked as a kitchen hand in the cafe – together with some absolutely cute & loving Japanese girls! After two weeks I started working in the reception. Although this wasn’t as exhausting as the kitchen, it was quite boring most of the time. Since it is summer now with more than 40 degrees Celsius, it’s low season in the desert and therefore not many tourists around. All in all, the last 3 months were pretty exciting, with heaps of beautiful, but also with some difficult moments. But I guess, that’s also what this year is about. Not only relaxing and living at ease, but also experiencing more challenging moments in order to learn 😉  

Now we’re in Adelaide and it’s like paradise. Finally, we are able to eat and buy whatever we like to. But the best thing is the beach!! For our first time, we were at a real Australian beach (besides the artificially built city beach in Brisbane) and it was gorgeous! Especially the sunset… 

The last few days we were looking for a car and we’ve already found and bought one. It’s a Ford Escape, a little Jeep with 4×4. There is a bed in the back where we are going to sleep for the next months. Another good thing is the camping gear which is included already. Today we’ll pick it up, finally. We’re so excited 🙂
